Confidential cargo from the Moon.
Instead of using traditional Mid-Autumn imagery, the package was designed as an intergalactic cargo box. Shipping documents, warning labels, mission stamps, serial numbers, and handwritten records make each box feel like an artefact received from a lunar supply mission.
The retro visual language gives the fictional story a sense of history, as though it came from an imagined era of analogue space travel.
A story revealed through unboxing.
Inside the package, a comic follows the lunar mission behind the mooncakes—from launch and arrival to their return to Earth.
The narrative continues across the box, documents, and inserts, turning the act of opening the gift into part of the experience.
A Mid-Autumn gift from another world.
Moonshine transformed a familiar seasonal product into a collectible piece of visual storytelling. Its combination of packaging, fictional documents, and comics created a complete world around the mooncakes without losing their connection to the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The project demonstrates how narrative can make packaging feel memorable before the product is even opened.
